Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2
In my next set of interviews, I targeted a group of older students here at the University of Florida who live at The Standard, many of who are involved in the business school. Two of the five people I had interviewed also have cars, which allows them to experience the struggles of driving at the intersection of West University Avenue and Southwest 13th Street. All have expressed frustration in the traffic lights, as well as the crosswalk light, but have trouble thinking of a way to fix the problem in a convenient way. Still, they believe something must be done to fix the lights, as the traffic and occasional accidents are unbearable.
Who (and who not): Gainesville residents who often travel around that area are target customers. However, not all people in the Gainesville area would be the type that this opportunity is meant to help, as if they rarely maneuver around that intersection, a fix may not benefit them too much.
What (and what not): The issues that I am trying to solve include the traffic and accidents the stoplight causes. Many people, especially nowadays, are constantly in a hurry, and this traffic light requires extra time management. However, the improvement I am trying to bring wouldn't cover the other issues like the uncleanliness of the streets, or the amount of homelessness present on the streets.
Why (and why not): There are simply two needs involved in this opportunity: decreasing traffic and making the intersection.

Inside boundary
- Who: Gainesville residents who often travel around this area/intersection.
- What: Fixing the traffic light at the intersection of West University Avenue and Southwest 13th Street.
- Why: To fix traffic and prevent potential car accidents.
- Who: People who do not travel around that area regularly, even if they live in Gainesville.
- What: The need is not to clean the area or fix other traffic lights.
- Why: The need isn't intended to make maneuvering easier, just safer and more convenient.
