Reading Reflection No. 3

For this assignment, I read Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future by Ashlee Vance.
1: What surprised me was all this man has accomplished. Literally any single one of his businesses would be impressive, but to see him at the front seat of all these corporations is unbelievable. Thus, I admire his passion to keep going, and never settle, even if that means settling on a great success like Tesla. Something I do not admire about him is making decisions without consulting others close to him, however he has made it successful so why should I judge. He has failed many times in his life, but has used these failures as learning lessons and motivation, which is a primary reason as to why he is one of the most wealthy people on Earth.
2: Something I have noticed about the best entrepreneurs is that they all are much more resilient than the average person, which allows them to succeed at unprecedented levels. Elon Musk failed so many times, yet got back up every time and seemed to be better off than he was before.
3: I am still confused at the fact that a person with such potential and creativity could be fired, especially from his own company
4: A: Was your mindset always like "I got this" or were you nervous most of the time? I would be curious as to see whether he was often certain of his success plan or if he wondered "would it work out?"
B: Why do you feel the need to be in a responsible role for so many companies; isn't 1 or 2 enough? Many people would be more than content to be in his position for only one company, maybe even greater than the amount of people who would, similar to Musk, have an array of companies at his disposal. This is because for many, the extra amount of wok isn't worth the extra amount of money and influence.
5: I think Musk would agree with me in that hard work is a very important trait in a successful entrepreneur. However he would also agree with me in that it takes a lot more than just hard work.
